Hi there!
A quick hello and a bit of what I have been up to.
I apologize for being MIA.  I have had a couple of projects due and they all had deadlines, and
one included a shoot of our home. Its been a bit nutso around here.

I feel so lucky that I get to shoot homes for a living and see how other people decorate.
It is very inspiring and overwhelming at the same time.

O.K! So, I have made a decision.  I have been struggling with my home decor and kept wondering why I wasn't hitting home with anything I was trying. I just haven't been feeling it.  I was looking at one of my posts titled French industrial decor and that is when it hit me... I am sorry to all you French home decor lover's out there but, NO more French decor and no more chippy furniture.

Well, a lot less French decor and a lot less chippy furniture. LOL

My love for white shall remain the same, but
a lot is going to change around here.
I know this may sound crazy but I will keep you posted on my new decor
journey and I know your going to love it.

See you soon.
Have a wonderful day.
Lulu

  2. Lovely photos; I just want to cuddle up there! I totally understand about the less chippy furniture thing since I've been through decor style shifts myself. It's hard to have a crisp and clean feeling house if EVERYTHING is distressed and chippy, so now I prefer a small touch of those things. I really like swedish and belgian style mixed with modern and classic pieces too. I can't wait to see where your decorating journey leads you.

  7. That couch looks like such a beautiful, cozy spot. I like the chippy French look, but for my house, only in small doses. I'm going for lots of white but with a neutral earthy feel.

  8. I love the look of industrial mixed with romantic such as the photo's in Jeanne D arc. I could never go all white, right now I am really inspired and really really really feeling Rachel's Prairie, living in Texas and loving the blues and greys (her more "smokey" pallet) I am going to go in that direction. I have always read and followed her books but never was thrown over the edge until the prairie with a little more primitive feel! Can't wait to see what you do!

  9. Yuo go girl! I'm hunting down as much industrial as I can myself. Rustic. Plain. Soothing. Unfussy. Uncluttered.

  11. I love your decorating style, so I hope it doesn't change too much! I love white, chippy furniture with lots of wood and tin and ticking. You've been an inspiration to a lot of us so you are doing something right!

  12. I am excited to see what your new look will be.I simply just use what I love and that is special to me.I don't have a style except eclectic! Though I do love things from France, but they also have color in them.
Also excited to hear about the photo shoot of your home~Cheers Kim

  17. I have recently come to that conclusion too. White will stay, but no more chips and faux anything. We had a photo shoot looming of our home and I fixed up quite a lot of pieces with a fresh, clean coat...no more chippy things...and I love it.
That shot of your sofa is divine!

  18. I agree with Ness. Lately, I've been painting pieces and not sanding the edges. I like that clean look too. I've even been painting with gloss, can you believe it?

  19. Be still my heart. Though I do love to look at all that "white" (and do use some of it myself in very limited doses), I am so excited to hear that some of you are moving onto color and more variety in your decorating.

  20. What ever yo like! Less chippy furniture here too.. but white remains and always will. I am in love with Stars! They are everywhere in our home just white stars, on shams, blankets and throws and as white wooden decorations on window sills.... Love, Mira!
