Vintage Botanical Love

Hi there!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.

I wanted to share with you my new love for vintage botanical prints.

This copper engraving from 1729 by Jaquin.

He was one of the first to document American botanicals.

Botanical Vignette 135

The frame is handmade using the paper out of the actual

engraving book that the botanical picture came from.

The botanical print has been water colored by hand. The name

at the top of the frame is the botanical variety.

I found this at A Beautiful Mess Antiques

There are many one-of-a-kind prints to chose from.

Have a wonderful day!

I have a beautiful book with vintage paintings of birds. I have so wanted to frame some but cannot bring myself to cutting them out of the book itself!
